The Best Poems & Poets of
2003
In the latter part of 2003, Nancy was contacted by the International
Library of Poetry advising her that she had been chosen one of
the top 100 poets for the year 2003. She was asked to write a new
poem to be included in a book that would be out in June 2004
entitled "The Best Poems and Poets of 2003",
Howard Ely, Editor, and published by The International
Library of Poetry. The membership exceeds 3-1/2 million poets.
Once again she took pen to paper and wrote a poem for this very
special book that she was so proud to be a part of. She has included her poem "
Today I Still Love You"
here on her website.
Upon receiving the beautiful hard cover book in June 2004 she
quickly browsed through it in anticipation of finding out where
her poem was placed in the book.
She admits that she
started searching for her poem from back to front. " When I
discovered that my poem had been placed on Page 1" she
said "I was truly honoured."
Note: The inspiration for this poem came from the wonderful and
romantic love story of the late President Ronald Reagan and his
loving wife Nancy. The book was received by the poet 3 days before
the passing of President Reagan. A copy of the book
was sent to Mrs. Nancy Reagan.
The book, proudly manufactured in the United States of America
by Watermark Press is catalogued in the Library of Congress under
ISBN 0-7951-5245-0.
